Training Program

The Crim Adult Training Program is gearing up for our 2011 training season.   Once again we are offering an opportunity for you to prepare yourself for a Crim Festival of Races event on August 27, 2011 or a Brooksie Way event on October 2, 2011.

New for this year we are offering

  • On-line registration at no additional cost
  • A Tuesday morning workout for Genesee County participants in the 10 Mile Level 2 program
  • A gender specific training shirt
  • Placement nights for timing and an exciting kickoff to get the program going
  • A training program only Pep Rally and packet pickup with John “The Penguin” Bingham providing inspiration.

We will continue to offer three different levels for participants.

Level 1
If you have never exercised before, if your doctor has recommended that you participate in an exercise program, are new to running and walking or are used to sitting around on the couch but are ready to make a change in your health, this is for you! Come out to exercise, meet new people, set a new goal and start on a new path.

Level 2
This level is for the individual who has a good general level of fitness and is not new to running or walking.  You may have been in the training program in previous years or you may have participated in area races for fun and overall fitness, and you are not seeking to improve race times. There will be no speed or track work in this level, only group workouts and of course homework.  Participants should be able to run or walk 2 miles during the first training night of the program.

Level 3
For those individuals who currently walk or run year round and want to increase their speed and/or improve their “goal” time from previous races.  These workouts will emphasize speed work and includes track workouts.  Participants should be able to run or walk 3 to 4 miles during the first training night of the program.

We are excited about the changes and looking forward to welcoming back old friends and meeting new ones.  Who can you invite to join you this summer to tackle a new distance, meet new people, get out and make the choice for a healthy lifestyle?  Bring along a friend to share in the fun.
